Pictures speak a thousand words
After a hectic second semester at Boston College, I now have my summer break. In the last month there has been a lot going on in my life. I share with you some significant moments of my life - a story with pictures!
Retreat
I went for my annual retreat with the community at San Lorenzo to Campion Retreat Center in Weston, Mass. A very beautiful place in the midst of the woods. The beauty of the tree captures for me the grace of the retreat.
Br. Marvin's send off
Br. Marvin Bearis from the Vice Province of Guam was with us for a year of Post novitiate formation. He now moves to Berkley, SF for his studies. John put together a wonderful dinner - Hawaiin style ...
... complete with lei's. The only thing missing were the hula skirts. Here is Marvin with John and Jack in a jestful moment. We will miss his gregarious company in the community.
Syracuse, NY
Took the bus to Syracuse to visit Louiza and Alysha (her daughter). Louiza is the sister of Br. Norbert, a confrere from the Province of Karnataka (He is now in Sri Lanka. We were companions in the seminary). Were supposed to visit the Finger Lakes with them, but the rain foiled our plans.
Mount Alvernia High School ...
... is where I volunteer my ministerial services along with Eric, Mary and Becky. This picture was taken at Eric's place. We were there for a barbaque party that Eric had put together. (Eric just graduated from the Counseling program at BC and will be beginning his doctoral work. Mary and Becky are staff members at the school).
Philadelphia
Scooted down to Philly for Stephen's graduation. Stephen is the second son of my first cousin Christopher and his wife Maria. Here in the picture is a beaming Stephen with his parents. No wonder Stephen has that big smile - He has got admission to Princeton and walked away with some very significant awards at the graduation ceremony!
(from left) Diana, Linus, Andrew, Steven, Fabian Fernandes (Maria's Dad), Jeevs, Michael, Maria and Christopher.
Diana had schemed with Christopher to get me go horse-riding. Well the elements were on my side - it rained heavily. So instead, of we trooped to the Healthplex for a good workout and the sauna. I still wonder why I had to work up a sweat to sweat anyway in the sauna!
THE COLICHIO'S
Friends of mine from Long Island: Diane, Caitlin, Ryan and Dennis
THE HANSEN'S
More friends from Long Island: Judy, Peter, Elizabeth, Patrick, Craig, Erin, Cathrine
THE MENSCH'S
Mary and John Mensch, invited me to go boating with them.
They have this beautiful house on the river ...
... went boating with John - down the river into the Bay and then out to the Atlantic ocean. It was an awesome experience. Talk about us being rivers that empty into the sea ... the sea envelopes the river in an awesome display of power!!!
